BROKENNESS
At Sow Community Church, we believe that we live in a broken world. What is broken about it? Disease, natural disasters, war, injustice, and so much more. We also believe we are broken people.
SEPARATION
Because of our brokenness (sin), we are separated from God. God is a holy, perfect God which means He cannot have anything to do with us because we are not holy or perfect. There is absolutely nothing we can do to fix this relationship with God by our own doing.
SOLUTION
God knew there was nothing we could do to fix this relationship. So God sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to leave the comforts of Heaven and come down to earth in order to save humanity from our brokenness (sin). Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life, but then died a brutal, sacrificial death. We deserved the death that Jesus died for us. We should have been on the cross, but Jesus took our place. Jesus is our main character. He is the only one who can bring us back into a right relationship with God.
MOVING TOWARD JESUS
All persons move in one of two spiritual directions. Instead of moving away from Jesus, we encourage everyone to join us in moving toward Jesus at Sow Community. We want all persons to experience the joy of life devoted to following Jesus. While we move toward Jesus, we encourage our friends to start fresh with God. That means we encourage them to turn away from the sins of the world and to move toward Jesus recognizing that He has all authority in their life.
ONGOING TRANSFORMATION
Persons moving toward Jesus experience ongoing transformation in His presence. Jesus' spirit can transform and restore everyone who follows him to look more and more like Him for the sake of others. Jesus' transforming power can ultimately overcome all resistance to present every person as perfect in God's presence.
